Beetle Damages

Amongst Insects pests, Beetles class is the most destructive structural pest in terms of damage they inflict to almost any item made of fibers, wood and importantly food grains and its products. Beetle larval stage is most damaging while most adults feed on plants, nectors and others open food sources. 

Beetles That Damages Materials

Powder Post Beetle. Damage hard wood work of buildings, furniture and other manufacturing wood products.  Larvae​ live on starch and other nutrients in the sapwood, therefore damage caused by feeding and tunneling inside infested wood and heavily damaged wood is structurally weakened. Infestations can range from minor to very severe.   
 
Carpet Beetle larvae feed on dry foods (cereal, grains, nuts, crackers, dry fruit, cookies, flour, cornmeal, dry animal food and spices), natural fibers (wool in carpets, clothing, blankets, cotton and silk clothing), even Leather, animal hides and furs etc

Furniture Beetle; ​These beetles attack both seasoned soft and hardwood in homes and structures and are capable of significant damage if infestations are undetected. Other food sources include carpet, fur, horns, and silk. Cotton, linen, rayon, and jute may be attacked when stained with animal body oils or excreta. It can destroy upholstered furniture by devouring both the padding and the covering. 

Pantry/Food and Grain Beetle; 

All these beetles feed primarily on seeds or whole grains including the lesser grain borer. Other than grains, a wide variety of food materials e.g. cereals, macaroni products, dried foods, chocolate, nuts, pet food, flour, feeds and meals.  These insects are found in homes as well as in grocery store, grains, granaries and flour mills.

How We Control Stored Grains Pests?          

• Technician will start by checking the exterior and interior of your home for obvious entry ways for the beetles and recommend repair options. 
• Technician will use the options of vacuuming, aerosol, dusting, and Residual Insecticidal Spray depending upon the level of infestation
• All treatments will be made with your safety in mind to ensure your health 
• A single control measure may not be effective against more severe infestations so each case is entirely unique.
