Are Milipedes true Insect?

Millipede ​is not a true insect but both have basic similar characters (collectively fall in Arthropods ) e.g. exoskeleton or simply their skin is a Hard covering that protect and supports body like large animals skin, body is segmented ( three in true insects and two in millipedes), more, jointed appendages and specialized appendages. Otherhand, a true insect has three body parts and three pairs of legs, while a millipede's body has two parts, head and trunk while mostly on trunk, t wo pairs of legs and 30 or more legs pairs in  total. 

How Millipedes Live and Survive?

Millipedes is basically a outdoor bug pass winter primarily as adult and fully depends on ortgainc material to survive where other insects flourished in aboundance and as predator millipedes eat other insects e.g. beetles, silverfish, ants, flies, small spiders etc. 
They take several years to complete their life cycle. Occasionally they may become a nuisance in a building if they invade from outside and find a suitable habitat inside.

How We Control Millipedes?

• Technician will start by checking the exterior and interior of your home for obvious entry ways and also infestation level
• Technician may use insecticidal spray treatment or aerosol spray as in accordance with approved instructions on the product label.
• Technician may set up and implement a program using glue boards and spray treatment where deemed necessary.
• Technician may use insecticidal spray treatment as a spot or perimeter spray in accordance with approved instructions on the product label. Areas the technician will focus on include basement, ground cover vegetation, areas where the lawn meets the woods, ornamental plantings, etc
• All treatments will be made with your safety in mind to ensure your health
• A single control measure may not be effective against more severe infestations so each case is entirely unique.
